Pictures and Videos

__________________________________________

This is a fun and exciting page we've added to our newly rebuilt site for 2009! If you have severe weather pictures you've taken and/or videos (please, try to keep them no longer than a couple of minutes or so each), send them as an attachment to shelleysh1@att.net and we'll post them on the site with recognition given to the individual(s) making the submission! Pictures can be of any type of severe weather - wall clouds, with or without rotation, water spouts if you're in an area where they occur, hail, lightning, etc.

For pictures you can submit most any common format, but we'll be converting most over to "JPG" before placing them onto the site. For videos we would prefer "Real Player", "Quicktime" or "Windows Media Player" format but we also have the ability to take "YouTube" videos and drop them directly into the webpage, if you'd prefer that we posted one that way.

IMPORTANT! Please understand - you can *only* send in pictures and videos for which you have the rights to! Also, please remember to include permission for us to post them on our site. You may, of course, choose to have your name included or not - that's up to you. Thank you and ENJOY!!

The first series of pictures we have up is from the National Severe Storm Laboratory (NSSL) and National Weather Service (NWS) Archives. They have some excellent pictures and, considering the pictures range from about 13-124 years old, the resolution is truly amazing!

The photos are posted, with location, date, and credit to the individual who took the picture (most frequently a NWS employee). If you click on a picture, a high resolution (large) version will pop-up! There are some excellent photographs from both the NSSL and NWS archives.

Once we begin receiving submissions from people viewing and enjoying our site, we will move this section to an area of its own.

As always, suggestions, ideas, etc. are always welcome. Please feel free to drop me an email with any you may have at:  shelleysh1@att.net. And again remember - click on the pictures for a high resolution version. Have fun!
